About us

A Togolese company, a written commitment.

Our kits cost several million CFA francs, paid in advance and often from abroad. Here is who sells them, and how we work.

The company

KATALUXE SARL U is a single-member limited liability company under Togolese law. Its registered office is in the port zone of Lomé, Togo, a few hundred metres from West Africa's largest container hub — the same route our imported equipment travels.

NIF: 1002042323

Registered office: Port zone, Lomé — Togo

Founder and CEO: Mabeba KATALA (Founder & CEO)

AFRO-ENERGY is the commercial brand under which KATALUXE sells its products: complete residential solar kits — panels, hybrid inverter, lithium iron phosphate battery — sized to the house and to the Togolese climate. They are imported directly from the factory and installed by certified partners anywhere in Togo.

We install in all five regions of Togo — Maritime, Plateaux, Centrale, Kara and Savanes — in Lomé as well as in Dapaong, Kara, Sokodé, Atakpamé, Kpalimé, Notsé, Tsévié, Aného or Agbodrafo.

Why AFRO-ENERGY

CEET's residential electricity rate rose 12.5% in May 2025 — the first increase since 2011 — and power outages remain frequent in Lomé. On the local market, lead-acid batteries are still the majority, even though a lithium iron phosphate battery lasts roughly three times longer. Finally, there was no complete online offering for the Togolese diaspora, who often need to equip the family home remotely, from choosing a kit through to installation.

AFRO-ENERGY was built to answer these three facts: families in Togo, and the Togolese diaspora equipping the family home from a distance.

How we choose what we sell

Before selling a kit, we compare several manufacturers, part by part, across a panel of quotes. A quality floor rules candidates out with no discussion: a verified real factory, batch-level certificates — IEC 62619 and UN38.3 for batteries, CE and IEC 62109 for inverters, IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 for panels — written warranties, and after-sales support reachable from West Africa.

Design matters too: at this price point, an inverter and battery mounted in a hallway or living room should look like consumer electronics, not workshop equipment. No order is placed before a factory visit, and the Canton Fair of October 2027 is the milestone where this choice is settled. The full detail of our requirements is public: it is the page we send to every manufacturer.

What we promise you, and what we don't

We put everything in writing before your order: the kit's sizing is confirmed in writing, and manufacturer warranties are handed over in writing at delivery. Our entire range runs on a single voltage, 48V, and on every shipment we hold back batteries from the same production batch as the ones installed, so a module can be added within twelve months without changing the inverter.

What we don't promise: we have no stock today. An order is a pre-order with a deposit, with a lead time of six to eight weeks between order and installation. And we sell nothing before visiting the chosen manufacturer's factory ourselves. We would rather say so now than have you discover it later.

We do not take phone calls: the entire relationship, from the first message to the warranties, is in writing. Write to contact@afro-energy.com — we reply in writing.
